Overview
In this webinar, Valentin Raab, Marc Dimter and Matthias Mueller will share their experiences in applying higher preheating temperatures to LPBF machines.
While Marc and Matthias will focus on features and needs from an industry perspective, such as mold & die and aerospace, Valentin, Product Manager for the TruPrint 5000, will explain the challenges and approaches to implementing this feature into a 3D printing system, including necessary adaptions for powder and part handling.
Speakers will also present reference applications from specific industries which demonstrate the mature industrial use of the system.
Learning Objectives:
- Get to know todays AM challenges
- Which materials benefit from higher preheating temperatures
- Learn about the TRUMPF TruPrint 5000
- Demonstration of mature AM applications
Speakers:
Valentin Raab - TRUMPF
Product Manager Additive Manufacturing
Valentin Raab started out as a product manager for additive manufacturing at TRUMPF in 2017 and is now responsible for the midsize format TruPrint 3000 and TruPrint 5000 machines. Raab holds a master’s degree in industrial engineering and management, having focused on economic manufacturing sequences of selective laser beam melting under series conditions.
Marc Dimter - TRUMPF
Additive Manufacturing Industry Manager Mold & Die
Marc Dimter graduated in 1997 at the University of Stuttgart as a mechanical engineer, specialising in laser materials processing. After five years at the TRUMPF laser application center he quit to found his own laser-job-shop LBC, where he implemented one of the first 3D metal printers in 2004. Specialising in mold & die applications, the company was sold to Renishaw in 2013. Working for Renishaw until the end of 2014 and later in the laser-engraving/laser-cutting-business at ACSYS, Marc joined TRUMPF again in 2017 as Industry Manager Mold & Die inside the additive team.
Matthias Müller - TRUMPF
Additive Manufacturing Industry Manager Aerospace
Matthias Mueller has served as the Industry Manager for Aerospace & Energy at TRUMPF Additive Manufacturing since the beginning of 2019. From 2015 to 2018, he served in different positions at DMG Mori including two and a half years as Product Manager for laser drilling, cutting and welding applications with a focus on jet engines & industrial gas turbines, as well as one and a half years as the personal assistant of the Managing Director at DMG Mori's LASERTEC division. Matthias holds a Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering.
